About Me

My interest in transforming challenges began when I was a teenager and my father and little sister died unexpectedly.

I spent the next twenty years exploring self-help processes, including three wonderful years with Byron Katie.

Eventually, I developed a sequence of 7 steps to make transformation accessible without clinical or spiritual language. These steps reproduce the unconscious steps your mind goes through whenever you have a breakthrough, but makes them available on demand.

In 2004, I began teaching this at nonprofits focusing on addiction, cancer, and discrimination. Then, in 2006, senior leaders in financial services tried it, and appreciated that it was effective, free of stigma, and just as useful at home as at work.

Since 2007, I’ve taught this process regularly through Wharton Executive Education, as well as at dozens of Fortune 500 companies, with a special focus in wealth management and nonprofits.

More than 30,000 leaders have used these 7 steps to transform issues faster. My typical audience is senior and skeptical. They want immediate takeaway value, and no BS.

Audiences also appreciate my sense of humor (I used to write for the Muppets) and the interactivity of the event. We go through this 7-step worksheet together (in-person or virtually), so everyone can have a breakthrough, but no one feels exposed.
